Michael completed his undergraduate education from 2010-2013 at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, TX. At TCU, he majored in political science with minors in history and religion. Michael graduated magna cum laude with Departmental Honors in December 2013.
From August 2023 to May 2024 Michael attended the Jacksonville University College of Law in Jacksonville, FL. During his first year at JU Law, Michael received five book awards and ranked first overall in his class with a 3.8 GPA.
In July 2024, Michael transferred to the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Following graduation from TCU, Michael accepted a job at a political consulting firm in Austin, TX, and moved to Louisville, KY, to serve as the in-house digital consultant on the 2014 re-election campaign of Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. Following Leader McConnell's resounding victory in November 2014, Michael moved on to a similar role in the 2016 presidential campaign of Senator Rand Paul.
In January 2016, Michael moved to Washington, D.C., to serve as the Digital Director at Cavalry, LLC, a political consulting firm. At Cavalry, Michael oversaw digital advertising, content production, and strategy for numerous political campaigns, political action committees, trade associations, and advocacy groups. In 2016, he managed a $1.5 million digital advertising budget for the successful re-election campaign of Senator John McCain.
Michael served on active duty as an Air Defense Control Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps from November 2018 to November 2022.
During his time on active duty, Michael served with Air Defense Company A at Marine Air Control Squadron 1 (MACS 1) at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, AZ. While at MACS 1, Michael served as the lead planner for a company field training exercise and participated in Exercise Spartan Shield at the Warrior Preparation Center in Einsiedlerhof, Germany.
From September 2020 to April 2022, Michael served as the Interface Control Cell Officer-in-Charge for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU). In this role, Michael led a team of Marines in enhancing the MEU's command-and-control capabilities and digital interoperability while conducting operations in the air, on land, and at sea. In August 2021, Michael deployed for six months with the 11th MEU aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Essex in support of operations in U.S. Central Command and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.
In November 2022, Michael received his honorable discharge from active duty. He was promoted to Captain in the Individual Ready Reserve in June 2023. His military awards and decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
Michael is married to the former Jodie Persaud of Tampa, FL. Lieutenant Jodie Millican is currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. Michael and Jodie live in Orange Park, FL, with their two energetic Australian Cattle Dog mixes.
In his free time, Michael enjoys reading political and military history, running, refereeing soccer, collecting political campaign memorabilia, and watching college football. He is a passionate fan of the TCU Horned Frogs and has traveled to watch his alma mater in seven post-season bowl games. Go Frogs!
